PIAP Participates in EAC Meeting in Stockholm Plans to Join an International Organization
On May 23-24, 2024, in Stockholm, Sweden, the Polish Chamber of Promotional Products (PIAP) participated as an observer in a meeting of several European associations and the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI). During the event, representatives from ten countries reached an agreement to establish the "European Association Cooperation" (EAC).
The aim of the newly formed EAC is to support cooperation and better coordination of efforts to develop the promotional products sector in Europe. This collaboration aims to address common industry challenges and elevate standards and practices in this field. During the meeting, many issues crucial to the promotional products industry were discussed, including sustainability and regulatory compliance, which are key for the promotional products market in the European Union. EAC seeks to create standards that promote sustainable business practices. Additionally, the formalization of EAC as a non-profit organization (AISBL) based in Brussels was discussed.
"We are representing PIAP at meetings aimed at forming the European association, engaging in advanced discussions at the international level. We are very interested in joining the EAC as a full member. We want to actively participate in future initiatives and task forces to contribute to the development, raising standards, and building awareness about the promotional products industry in Poland and across Europe," said Jacek Kozłowski, President of PIAP.
Countries represented at the first EAC meeting included Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain/Portugal, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States (as an unofficial and informal member).
The first EAC task forces established were:
- Fiscal/Legal (Austria)
- Policy/Lobbying (Belgium)
- Communication/Marketing/Exhibitions/Fairs (Germany)
- Education/Academy (Netherlands)
- Digitalization (Switzerland)
- European/Global Monitoring/Statistics (France)
- Sustainability (Sweden)
EAC represents a milestone for the promotional products industry, enabling strengthened international cooperation, driving innovation, and setting higher standards across Europe.
The European Association Cooperation (EAC) is a newly formed organization aimed at uniting national trade associations in Europe to jointly develop the promotional and textile products industry. EAC promotes cooperation, innovation, and the exchange of best practices among member countries.
